The Best Dive Bar in Philadelphia 🏆

McGlinchey’s bar is a quintessential dive. A place where the only thing that hovers lower than the smoke are the patrons. A horrific red-hued den. The sort of place the sun doesn’t want to cut even the tiniest swath of itself into when the door opens. Heaven for the low-lifes, the freaks, the debauched of Philadelphia. Booths from decades ago. Decor so hideous no blind person could stomach it. A menu board offering 75 cent hot dogs, daring you to ingest one into your body. A Place where it’s hard to tell who the bartender is until a new low-life arrives wanting a drink. Where the assumed order is a bottleneck and a cheap shot, Even though the draught options are objectively top-notch. It’s wonderful, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Great dive bar in the heart of Center City, especially when you're trying to get away from the Rittenhouse crowds. It's rumored that the current owners had a stipulation in their purchase that they could only raise prices by a fixed amount each year to keep it affordable -- and it totally is! It's a smokers bar, but the filtration system is on point. Always a great place to relax.

Love that places like this still exist. Smoking allowed, surly but fun bartenders, great cheap drinks. Reminds me of the East village early to mid 90s
